Día de Muertos

Here is my Cheyenne, sporting her Día de Muertos look.
She used varius eye shadows and eyeliners to complete this look. Doesn't she look so cute???!!!
You can find her facebook page HERE. Maybe we can get her to do a tutorial on how she did this look.

My eldest daughter, Thea and I carved some pumpkins tonight.
No one else wanted to join us(boo...hiss..boo..no holiday spirit, I swear!!!), so we each got to do three pumpkins each.
(puppy pads, not only good for puppy training, but are excellent for pumpkin craving(makes clean up super easy), and other crafty things.)

Another Day Older

Ahh..Today, I'm another day older and another year wiser.
It's funny, how much we can learn in a year, about ourselves, relationship, people, things around us, and life in general. Some of it can be really good, and some of it can be really sad and depressing.

BlahBlahBloggerhood - Challenge Mandala

Here is my BlahBlahBloggerhood - Challenge Mandala
It has been over 20 years since I have tried drawing on, and it really shows. Don't know how many I threw out because I was not liking it (my girls loved seeing me messing up that much, lol) I really don't like this on either..Guess I will have to try and draw them a lot more and see if I can get better.

BlahBlahBloggerhood - Places I've Been

This week's Blah Blah Bloggerhood is "Places I've Been or Would Like to Go"
Places I've been is pretty boring. I do not get out much now. In the past, I've been to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit my mom, and see my middle sister get married. I really liked it there, but boy was it hot. I've been to North Carolina to the Outer Banks, really loved it there, just beautiful, also been to the mountains in North Carolina, loved that too. Been to Virginia to visit family. When I was younger(I've been up there a few years ago too), we use to go to the Pocono Mountains, I really love it up there. It has to be one of my favorite places to go. So calm and peaceful.

Places I would love to travel to Coastal Maine, London, France, Ukraine, Germany.
Till Next Time ~

What's New 5/26/2014

I know it's not a Friday update, but I had fun with hubby today, and tried my had at some spray paint art. I have been watching a lot of youtube videos on it, and it's so cool how pretty and quick the art comes about. It can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour per piece. I need a lot of practice as you can see below. They make adding mountains and rocks look so easy, but dang if I could get it to come out right, lol

Well below you can see the two pieces I completed.
The first one was done on a 8x10 canvas, and was my second try at it. I like it, but not happy how the land and trees come out.
The next one was done on foam board, and I love how smooth and easy it was to work on(but hate how easy it is to ding up). I really love this piece. That was my 3rd try at it.

Thanks for stopping by
Till next time ~

BlahBlahBloggerhood - A Few of My Favorite Things

My Favorite Things
I have a few favorite things. I'm not very materialistic, I could care less about the newest fades and this and that, & I always put my kids needs first, but there are a few things I hold near and dear to my heart and are must haves.

Books/Kindle
Books bring peace to my life. I love to grab a new book and crack it open and head on into whatever place I'm reading. I read every night before I go to bed.

Nail Polish/Perfume
I have a major nail polish fetish, and most times when I go shopping I pick up one or two new nail polish colors. Most times I only wear the color once, because I always have a new color to try out, expect for my favorite color one, which are browns, bronzes, oranges and grey/silvers.
Pink sugar perfume is my all time favorite perfume. It is my must have perfume because it smells so good on me(well hubby says it does, lol). I switch between Pink Sugar, Gold Sugar and Pink Sugar Sensual depending on the season.

Candles
I love love love candles, and buy some whenever I find a scent or candle I like. There is nothing like when the kids head of to school, lighting a candle, putting on some music and just relaxing while working on the web or painting.

Violin
I love classical music and the sound of the violin. I had always wanted to learn to play the violin when I was in school, but ended up playing the clarinet and singing in chorus instead. When my girls were old enough and wanted to play an instrument they both wanted to play the violin too. One ended up playing violin and the other ended up doing viola and cello. So one day, I finally decided I was going to get myself a violin too when we were shopping for instruments and got myself a nice electric violin. I'm still slowly learning to play it, but love it!!!

Art Supplies
Hubby and I have a really bad problem collecting art supplies of all kinds. We have totes upon totes filled with nothing but supplies. This year we just starting going through them and getting rid of stuff we are never going to use and only keeping what we need. My favorite art supplies are my colored pencils, oil pastels, pastels, watercolor and acrylics, plus my beads and felting supplies.

These are a few of my favorite things........
See you next week ~

Lifebook 2013 wk 45

Today, I worked on Lifebook 2013's new lesson. I loved the idea with working on in graphite and maybe some color for the background.

The lesson as working on a feather. I decided to do a dream catcher with feathers.

I used two different graphite pencils, a prismacolor and a mechanical graphite pencil. Blended them with a stump and for those really white highlight areas, I used my Derwent battery eraser. Then splashed some blue watercolor for the background, and went over my main lines to darken them up.

Hope you enjoyed this piece as much as I have.
Till next time ~

What's New 10/4/2013

Happy October!!! October is my favorite month of the year, not because my birthday is at the end of the month, but because of the beautiful colors, the temps being cooler, and of course Halloween!!!! I love the sound of leaves crunching under foot, along with the smells of apples and pumpkins being baked in yummy pies and breads. There is nothing like the sights, sounds and scents of autumn.

This week, not much is on my desk, I have been making stretchy bracelets for the past 2 weeks. Last week, was making them for my kids to sell in there high school for school spirit. This week, I have been making them to put into my etsy account on Friday, and I even made a video on youtube with how I make my beaded fishtail. Below you can see some of the bracelets that I have made. I will have some think pink and go gold bracelets.

I plan on holding a give-away in the next few weeks, so keep checking back.
Till next time ~
